Creative Writing

All of the examples below are from a creative writing course; below are examples of poems, essays, and a short story.

The subject of each of the poems are important to me. From a past relationship, an old jewelry box of my grandma’s, to a childhood picture of my little sister. The essays are about how my result of the Meyer-Briggs test describes how I grew up and how I learn and a meal that was important to me. The short story is a self-insert piece about a party.

The strongest piece presented, in my opinion, is the short story. I think that the main character is extremely relatable, and the situation is too. Especially for anyone with social anxiety. Wanting to put yourself out there, but you can’t, and once you get the opportunity to, it doesn’t go exactly how you expect (in a good way.)
